Re: Tragedy near the Bay Bridge

Well done. I agree that you were clearly the first responder and because of your actions many lives were saved. As someone who sails in your home waters and was out there the day before, this hits...

Re: BVI-Jost to Norman in 60 seconds

Re: BVI-Jost to Norman in 60 seconds

This is the boat we were on: Moorings 4800 (http://www.moorings.com/charter-fleet/moorings-4800-4-cabin-catamaran).

Agreed, all motoring that day. :)
Didn't want to put that in the title though. Artistic license?

He was actually headed for a mooring in front of us. We had stopped briefly at a mooring...

BVI-Jost to Norman in 60 seconds

Time Lapse Sailing Passage - BVI

The concept here is a time lapse sailing passage from Great Harbour on Jost to The Bight on Norman with a brief stop at the Indians. The focus is a day in the...

Re: Polar Vortex

I wouldn't worry too much. The cold weather event will be relatively short lived. If you haven't winterized the boat (with regards to fresh water - domestic/engine) then the fact that it is still...

Re: " All Is Lost" movie

I saw the movie about a week ago and very much enjoyed it. I agree with the others that describe it as a great story that happens to be set on a sailboat out on the ocean. If you are going to see...

Had to dive the prop this past weekend and it was pretty well fouled.
Didn't take too long to...

BTW, I was out on Saturday in the area of Thomas Point Light. Must have crossed wakes at some point.
