When I talked to the PSS Tech about hooking the Shaft Seal hose to the mixing elbow he said it was fine as it would help clean out any debris in the shaft log. I top out at 6knts.

PB Blaster and Impact Driver. I got my driver from NAPA. It will last a lifetime. PB Blaster is amazing stuff and it really works. I just went through the same thing with stainless and aluminum.

This is what I did with mine. Removing the clean-out plug was the trick. And I was surprised to find out how much carbon build up was in the bottom of the tube.
