Re: Barrier Coating Bottom; How to work around stands?

That was an old photo (of a PoliGlow job) before hours spent sanding below the waterline down to all gelcoat. The bottom was well-prepped and I've applied 2 coats of barrier coat thus far.

Re: Barrier Coating Bottom; How to work around stands?

Just to clarify, the soda blasters simply moved the existing 2 pair of stands, one pair at a time, to expose everything. They did not have an extra pair of stands.

That said, there are enough...

Barrier Coating Bottom; How to work around stands?

I have a 28-foot, 6800# sloop currently blocked on its lead keel and laterally supported by 2 pair of stands and one v-stand on the bow. These were set by the trucker who delivered the boat to my...

Re: Walnut and Soda Blasting for Paint Removal?

I had an older but newly-bought 28-footer soda-blasted to remove unknown layers of unknown substance to get a surface where I know what is what. Today spent another 2.5 hours with an orbital sander...

Re: Kiwigrip advice needed

I'll add a question for those experienced with it... is it also suitable for the non-skid seating surface areas in the cockpit?

In my research I've seen the vendor says one's roller technique can...

Re: Refurbish or scrap?

There are probably 2 areas to consider. First is financial and others have addressed those considerations. And if you do part it out on Craigslist or eBay, you'll be surprised how much of the $1600...

Re: Choose Y-Flyer vs Chrysler Buccanneer ?

I do not know anything about the Y-Flyer.

The Bucc is fast and tender. If you're looking for speed and VERY spirited handling, this is your boat. But it'll be wet and it'll go over.

If you're...

Re: question regarding electric head vs manual

Take one 95 degree day on the Chesapeake with a head (on a borrowed boat) that fails and crew that "gotta go". Been there, done that, never again.

1. A manual head has maybe 3 things that can...

Re: A Better Way to Bake on the Stove Top

Google "Wonder Pot" oven from the Middle East. Same design as Omnia for 15% of the cost (I bought one in Jordan last year for $7.50). Works Great!

They turn up on eBay once in a while.
