It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

I''ve heard of boats with Awlgrip that after a long passage on one tack, have had serious failure on the side that was in salt water.

One other IMPORTANT thing to keep in mind - Woods Hole. If you plan to transit thru this awful place pay attention to the direction of the current as it can hit 6 knots plus. And if you plan to go...

Seems like an interesting model. Any owners out there? Anyone have any insight into this model? My wife and I are strictly coastal cruisers looking to upgrade from our 29 yr. old Pearson 10M.

Outboard lifting is killing me!
I assume the engine is on your sailboat? I saw a picture of a neat way to do this. The owner fabricated a strap of stainless steel with a hook on one end that fit the dimensions of the lifting point...

Antifouling Prop & Shaft
I''ve used Pettit Antifouling Blue, (with copper), on my bronze prop and ss shaft for years. I''ve not noticed any damage from electrolysis.
Anybody else out there with a comment?

Delta vs. Bruce Anchors
I have had a Bruce 22# with 35'' of chain and 200'' of rode on my Pearson 10M that fully loaded went about 13,000 lbs. The 22 saved my bacon for many years but I upgraded to a 33# because my...

Mast Climber?
The top climber works best. Do you have a bosuns chair? If so save some bucks and get your own ascenders from any good outdoor store that sells to climbers. You''ll save hundreds.
Good Luck

Installing Avon tow rings
I installed tow rings on my Avon several years ago. If my memory serves me, I ordered a special cement from Avon. They have stayed on with no movement in all towing conditions.
Good Luck.

I''ve had too many problems with SH stuff. I could never get my speed to calibrate. I put the plug in the through hull and have not used it for three years. Instead, I use my gps.

How old is too old for a boat?
I agree with Irwin32. My 1974 Pearson 10M has had many upgrades (by me) and regular maintenance (by me). I''ve saved thousands by doing the work myself. I sail knowing ALL is in top condition and...
