Re: New Years Resolutions: Sailing-Related Goals for 2014

This year I met my goal of getting ASA certified and chartering in BVI's (I'm here now). Next goal is to get boat by April and put it in water.

Re: Why port tack gives way to starboard tack

Isn't a port tack ship approaching a starboard tack more maneuverable (meaning the ship on port tack has the wind) and has to move because it is more able to do so? That's the law in racing and the...

Re: Singlehanding a 41' Hunter DS?

Re: Singlehanding a 41' Hunter DS?

One more question, if people by 60' sailboats, how do they sail them? Do they have a wife who helps out? Or friends who know how to sail and help hoist sails? People buy these bigger boats but...

Re: Singlehanding a 41' Hunter DS?

Re: Singlehanding a 41' Hunter DS?

Hi Andy, thanks for your reply. I don't have even a minute of experience on any boat larger than a canoe. Can't sail, but figured I could learn this summer. I was going to take ASA 101-104 lessons...
