It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

Re: Advice on the Perfect Boat Please
Just to add to what everyone else has stated.... and keep in mind I'm as far away from someone to take advice on when it comes to purchasing a "perfect" vessel. All I can say is, do a little triage,...

So is loud Jimmy Buffet music a dead giveaway? Or do you only like to compensate the noise with the motor running or generator?

Re: The future of the sailing world. Why are there so few young people cruising??
I for sure need to go back and read the entirety of this thread. Not really being a youngster (I turn 30 at the end of March) but not being old either, all I can say about is my generation...

Re: Who does a lot of fishing from or near their boat?
Capt Aaron, do you use the sling in the mangroves a lot, or do you tend to use a speargun? Spearfishing has always intrigued me, but I have never done it. It seems like it's relatively easy once...

Re: Who does a lot of fishing from or near their boat?
Oh for sure fly fishing from a moving sailboat would be futile, if you are anchored it wouldn't prove that much of a problem, at least no more so than fishing wild streams with trees and bushes...

Re: Garbage Island
Yeah, unfortunately cases of bottled water are to convenient for people, especially sailors with it's easy stow-ability. I wish more people would buy bigger jugs and use smaller reusable containers...

Who does a lot of fishing from or near their boat?
The main reason for my soon to be move from landlocked Roanoke, down to the keys is fishing. I've been trout-bumming for a while, fished a lot in the Chesapeake, and will make my 5th week long trip...

Re: longer than stuff lasts in a frige
Capt, The boxed bacon isn't bad, it does say it requires refrigeration after opening, but it comes precooked. We've used it for camping a lot, and if you like BLT's during tomato season. I have...

This had me laughing way too hard so I had to post.

I'm usually more of a Blanton's or an Eagle Rare man (because I love my bourbon) But Mt Gay really isn't that bad, Capt Private Stock is good, I'm gonna have a big list for my next liquor run to...

This thread is awesome! Keep the ideas and recipes coming. Anyone use handcrank blenders at all? I've always heard mixed reviews of them.
On a food note, while camping in the Keys or OBX we do...
