I need to establish a new connection for my VHF antenna at the base of my mast. I have read Main Sail's article on his site about the proper way to make a VHF connection. My question is what are...

Re: Compass is Off

The support is also teak and it is hinged and supported by a small strut but they are attached out at the end of the table a good 20" away from the compass at all times. I am pretty sure at this...

Re: Compass is Off

Changing the hinge certainly would be an easier route. I thought the hinge was stainless because it was shiny.... obviously not. I will look at getting a replacement for it.

Re: Compass is Off

Ok, I went and did some checking. It makes no difference if the table is up or down. What I did find out though is that if I raise the compass up approx. 4 inches high than it site now it reads...

Re: Compass is Off

It is the same with the AP powered up or down and it is just a Raymarine control head connected with a sea talk spur cable. I'm think that it was fine before the table was installed. The table is...

Compass is Off

Hello

I recently installed an autopilot control head and a teak cockpit table both of which are mounted on my pedestal guard. After all of this my compass is now reading 180 degrees from actual...

Raymarine Evolution autopilot

Hey guys,

So I just finished installing a Raymarine Evolution autopilot. Now when it is all said and done neither the control head or the EV-1 are powering up. The ACU-100 is powered up but the...

Re: DC Refrigeration Wiring

I am going to use 10awg wire. Per the instructions that should be more than sufficient. I am going to go through the main switch panel initially. If I have voltage problems I can change it to go...

Re: DC Refrigeration Wiring

Do you leave your batteries on when you are not at your boat? I want to be able to run the refrigeration even if we're not there.

Re: DC Refrigeration Wiring

Yes it has a thermostat that can turn off. Would you run the switch right to the hot battery as well?

DC Refrigeration Wiring

Hey All,

I'm installing a DC refrigeration system. Wondering what the best way is to wire it in. I want to be able to leave it on when we aren't there but don't want to leave the batteries on...

Re: Raymarine EV-100

Have not decided yet what to do. I have concerns that the EV100 will not be strong enough but after looking around under the cockpit, mounting one of the below deck models will not be easy. A lot...

Re: SeatalkNG - NMEA2000 connections

This is great advice, thanks. According to RayMarine, the adaptor won't work to add a backbone cable. Only to adapt a spur. The do say you can splice an NG cable to a NMEA cable with 2 marathon...

Re: SeatalkNG - NMEA2000 connections

I think all the kits come with that 5 way connector. I was discussing this on another site and asked about joining the 2 backbones and was told you couldn't do it that way. That would be the best...

Re: SeatalkNG - NMEA2000 connections

Thanks for that manual. I will actually need to attach 3 sea talk devices for the autopilot. So I can use NMEA2000 spurs and the devicenet adaptor cables will go in between the NMEA spurs and the...

SeatalkNG - NMEA2000 connections

Hey All,

Does anyone know the best way to connect Raymarine devices on SeaTalkNG to a NMEA2000 backbone? My boat has a NMEA2000 network but I am looking at adding a Raymarine autopilot. I know...

Raymarine EV-100

Hey All,

Looking for an autopilot for a C&C 38. Any reports on the Raymarine EV-100? Will it be enough for a boat this size/weight? How are they to install and get working?

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Wet Decks

Update:

Once I got the report back I talked to the local boat yard and got a quote to repair the soft spot. The owners knocked that amount off of the price and we bought the boat. The fiberglass...

Re: Wet Decks

You would drop your offer 15% after the survey if he didn't find any major issues? The surveyors value was 15% under what I already negotiated off of the asking price before the survey.

Not just because we paid for the survey, it's part of the reason but not all. We really like the boat and the preliminary from the surveyor (I don't have the full report yet) sounds like this is the...
