We have the same set up but also use a multiplexer to integrate the AIS output of the Standard Horizon onto our Raymarine Chartplotter/radar.

Standard Horizon do a DSC VHF with fully integrated AIS. Here in Oz they retail for about $320. After spending another $70 for a multiplexer, we now have it integrated with our Raymarine chart...
