transmission problem?
sneuman- I currently have a Volvo penta(MD11C).If you check the top of the transmission where the wire meets the drive is there anything caught up or jammed? Perhaps someone could move the lever...

scuppers
You may also consider the inevitable event of a valuable object falling into a scupper. For that reason, I place rubber shower drain covers upside down when sailing/maintenance work. Good Luck, Joe
