According the web page for that generator, it comes with a "belt driven impeller type raw water pump".
With all due respect, putting an electrical pump controlled by a switch that must be manually...

As far as day sailing, I'd put the money into an asym rather than code 0. When your sailing downwind, you are just going to feel sooooo much slower on a hot day with light wind while on a reach you...
