Re: Found This Bristol for Sale - Thoughts for New Sailors?

Solid built boat and looks well kept. Good price too.
As mentioned before, get a survey to check the deck, the bottom, engine, rigging and sails.

Re: The Sapphire will sail again...

Impressive! To do this work on the water is a bit more gratifying, but just as hard. The Cheoy Lee Richards are one my favorites, very nice designs. How is the rest of the boat, the interior and the...

Re: Stringer/Floor repair

I agree. Before you fix, try to determine what is stressing the joint. Check how deep the crack is and whats around it - including outside. When sailing hard upwind, take a quick peak to check for...

Re: Drinkingwater while cruising?

Are you inquiring about drinkable water (potable) as the title indicates or water management in general?

Re: What to use as a mast wiring fitting?

You could use the same thru-hull at the mast and deck. Plastic would be better at the mast than metal.

Edit: never mind - just realized your mast is up...

Re: Cracked bow (pic), would you buy?

It depends where you are and the year of the boat. Prices vary from $4K to $25K depending on location, boat shape etc.
Not sure what the rust stain is and and what caused the crack, but it could be...
