Re: What happens when holding tank is full?

In my experience, it comes up and out the vent line. This happened more frequently than I'd like to admit on our previous boat with a 15 gallon holding tank. Our current boat has an 18 gallon tank...

Re: Winterizing a boat

I'm in a very similar climate to you (opposite side of Lake Michigan) and have been happy shrink wrapping over the years. I use the boom and the whisker pole (from the mast forward to the bow rail)...

Re: First boat advice - Mpls to Great Lakes

True enough, the NOAA radio forecast almost always states a chance of showers and thunderstorms. I'm less worried about thunderstorms and squalls then I am about heavy seas. You can reef, drop...

Re: First boat advice - Mpls to Great Lakes

In good condition, the Cat/O'day/Hunter would all serve your needs. I recommend making sure whatever you get has a very reliable outboard so that you can choose conservative (read low wind) weather...

Re: Island Packet and Cape Dory 33- 40 range.

Another interesting unique feature of IP's is that they use proprietary resin "Polycore" filler for deck core instead of balsa or other wood. Not sure if this is better or worse than anything else,...
