Is there a certain amperage (or range) welder that should be used for welding a 1/4" wall tube to a 3/8" thick plate? TIG is most appropriate?

Spoke with Collinite this a.m..

We pretty much concluded that acid rain is removing the wax - even the 885 paste will not hold up. They recommended using the 870 cleaner/wax in the affected area...

Here in SW PA we have coal soot in the air - which lands on the deck which gets washed over the rub rail and (naturally) down the hull.

Have done the compounding, polish, glaze and Collinite x2...
