Someone on Scuttlebutt is now saying the USCG was wrong on their first assessment and that Blue Dog is still missing.

Rumor has it the prop and rudder were fouled with a spring line........ unsure as to why USCG involved and why they left the vessel.....certainly sounds like some compromised decision making.

What do you all think about the risk of clipping the tack line to the anchor roller cause it to tear out. The questing is whether the "lift" from the tack...

Wow. Don't know how I missed it but there's a small padeye on the anchor roller. Rigged it up yesterday but Lake Erie was completely becalmed by the time I did it so haven't tested it yet, but...

Outr1980s version Autohelm 4000 finally died. The wheel pilot unit has a plastic sproket that is ground to pulp....dead dead dead.

We have our 1985 Tartan 34. Even though we are in Cleveland, OH this summer was still miserably hot at night. We mostly day sail. Cruise a week here...
