The make of the furler would be helpful. If that is a CDI flexfurl then it will most likely depend on the age of the furler as to whether it will straighten up or not since they become brittle over...

It may be strong enough but it certainly isn't designed to operate that way. Since there is no way to really know what the axle rating would be when flipped and considering the extreme forces applied...
