Re: Jenneau Sun 2500

To my knowledge, there is only one sun2500 in the US. You should be able to search on this forum, and at jeanneau.proboards.com for comments from that owner.

I personally would take the jeanneau...

Re: Looking at a Catalina 28-2, 1997

Having raced against a few with my 28'lod Jeanneau, I personally would say the SJ28 is the fastest of the bunch. The rangers while familiar, I have not raced against as many of them. The C28II has...

Re: New suit of sails for PSC34

Ullman option (http://www.ullmansailssandiego.com/product-tri-axis-endurance) that I have. Yeah it is a laminate, about 10-15% more than a top quality dacron, but the speed gain is about 60% of the...

Re: Compromises

The C&C 121 would be in the upper 50 to low 60 here in the NW US. We are generally speaking, 10% slower/higher numbered than elsewhere. A 115 is 66 to 72 IIRC, the 121 is 9 or so secs faster.

The...

Re: Compromises

THere is a very nice J-44 here in puget sound for sale. Just under 200K iirc. ALong with some J120's and 40s for 120K and under. All have what you east coasters would call deep draft. Here in Puget...

Re: Toilets, Y valve or not Y valve

I had a Y valve when I first hooked up the tank. Previous owner never used the tank in the first twenty years of operation. Later I removed the Y valve, and went straight to the tank. I have a manual...

Re: Tartan 3700 issues, PLEASE!

Chief,

From a blurb I saw the other day, Jacket is designing the power boats. Hopefully that is ALL he is doing.

I know some folks with a C&C 115 that had some gelcoat issues, that eventually...

Re: Tartan 3700 issues, PLEASE!

Reality is, if you like the boat, buy it!

Boats are like women, or men I suppose.....there is one for every one!

Overall, Tartan has built very nice boats, a step up from the more common price...

Re: World ARC

I would not, you get IIRC 18 months to do the trip, if you can not sail at a given spee, you must motor to make sure you make the full commitment etc.

Along with there are usually 50 or so boats...

Re: Jeanneau 50DS electrical wiring

THat is too new of a model to find it at the main Jeanneau.com site. Out of production boats many times have actual owners manuals on line.

You might try asking this at Home | Jeanneau Owners...

Re: Pros and cons for a double ender/Canoe Stern

The comment re the islander 28 as being a double ender. MANY IOR boats of the 70's in reality are double enders. While they have a transom per say, the flat part is a foot or so above the WL, and if...

Re: Barbarossa 4 winch service

I'll swag there is a bolt down at the bottom of the winch handle socket. Remove this, then the outer case pulls up and off. Be carefull that the upper and lower bearings assuming you have them do not...

Re: Second-hand sails

Cam.

A jib I might not have an issue buying used. Especially if like faster, found, one can get a used jib from say a J105 fleet. They do there 25-50 tacks with the thing, then out it goes. So...
