I have a larger tank 75 gal that seeks slowly.
I believe (hope) it is pinholes at a seam. The boat has other tanks built the same way and none show delamination....

Self steering is as important with little (or no) wind as with wind.
That is why we suggest retrofitting a wind vane (like our Moniitor) with an 'trick-assist' electric or separate...

Fitting a small electric tiller-arm autopilot to a Monitor is easy to do.
Then it works with no wind (calm conditions).
You 'trick' what the Monitor responds to by substituting the autopilot...

we use a Monitor to the wheel on our Pacific Seacraft 34
Works great, but it will make you properly trim the sails
We also tow a warp down wind with big seas to make it work better.
