Re: Cat Ketch

I considered the Tanton, but this boat had much nicer lines. Wooden rub rail, nice teak eyebrows etc.

Re: Cat Ketch

It looked to be 40-42 foot. Had wishbone rigs, I have to say it looked exactly like the Freedom 39 except it had more wood.
I wish I had taken longer to look, but I was ready to get back to the...

Cat Ketch

On the way back to RI today I noticed a nice looking Cat Ketch obviously with free standing carbon masts. As I got closer I noticed it was not a Freedom as I suspected. She was a real beauty, any...

Re: Trip to Block Island...

Years ago we used to go to Block every Columbus Day weekend. There were very few other boats around with the exception of the small Newport Yacht Club race. Several times we were able to tie to the...

I vote for: Eastward-A Maine Cruise in a Friendship Sloop by Roger Duncan.

For those of us that love the Maine Coast this is a must read.

Re: Splashified!!!

Actually I think the worst wind is North or NNW as it was yesterday. When the wind blows down the West Passage, it can be pretty rough.

Not sure about the weather clearing! I sure am glad I sailed from Mystic over to Jamestown last weekend, wouldn't want to have done it today and tomorrow.
