Yes the previous owners yard installed is missing. no corrosion issues at allor excessive play in the shaft. thanks for the advise:illl tap and torque.

My guess knowing my M12 Universal Diesel uses 1/3 gal per hour is plan on 1/2 to 3/4 of gallon per hour

Personally ive never been a fan of check valves in bilge pump lines. too critical a system to have a likely failure point as you are experiencing.
