I don't see the harm in talking to a broker. I could be wrong, but I believe the seller pays the broker's commission, doesn't cost the buyer anything. You can still continue to search on your own.

Lots of good tips here. One other thing you can try is after it starts, see if squeezing the primer bulb keeps it running. If it does you might have a fuel pump problem.
