Good place to leave boat in Exumas

Does anyone have a suggestion about a good place to leave a boat for a couple of weeks? What about Exuma Docking Services in George Town or Staniel Cay? Would it be wise to leave it anchored in...

schooner sails

The lowers are the jib, stays''l, fores''l, and mains''l. If a schooner has uppers (mine does), you can hoist a fisherman stays''l (between the masts), and if it is gaff-rigged (mine is), you can...

captain''''s license

Yes, time aboard your own boat counts. If you''ve been sailing for a long time, those days and weekends accumulated will add up.

Sailing Eastcoast

My mast height is also 63'' and I''ve had no problems with any fixed Ditch bridges behind Hatteras or elsewhere other than one bridge in Florida (can''t remember where, mid-coast I think).

Bermuda in July

Thinking about a trip from Norfolk to Bermuda and back in July. Assuming a clear weather window, it should take 5-6 days. Does anyone think mid-July is too risky a time?

Yard / marina in Chesapeake Bay

A bit north of Norfolk/Hampton Roads is a top (though expensive) yard - Zimmerman''s located on Mobjack Bay. If you want a good marina, York River Yacht Haven is a good place to sail out of.

bahamas / 7 ft. draft
