pearson 323 for the bahamas??

I owned a Pearson 323 for 5 years. It would be a super boat for the East coast, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean.

Pearson 323 or else?

I owned a 1982 Pearson 323 for 5 or 6 years in the early 1990s. I sailed in the Gulf of Mexico. I have had it out in 30knot winds and 12'' seas with no worries. I consider them stronger than most...

Installation of Raymarine 4000

Thanks.
I had to move my compass away from a stanchion that must not be completely stainless steel. The deviation is still very high and I was wondering if I had installed it wrong.

Multihull - Prout vs Catalac

I bought a PDQ32 last year, I did some research at that time, it seems to me that Prout and Catalacs of that size were regarded as good boats with similar performance.

Trying to narrow down options - Help please!!!

I owned a Pearson 323 and sailed in the waters you mentioned. I would recomend it. I suggest you save about 30% of your budget to refit the boat. The waters you mention are best sailed with a shallow...

Gas Vs. Deisel (are we crazy?)

You have received alot of advice about the engine. Your most important decision is the boat. Get a light weight, shallow draft, lots of sail area boat.

Mainsheets

Thanks for the info. I guess since you added the cascade a four part is not enough purchase? I want to gain the winch but I am not sure how bad. How hard is yours to trim with the 4 part? Do you...

Mainsheets

Would a four or six part tackle on the end of the mainboom of a 330 sq ft mainsail be able to control it? What would the working load be?

New ( ? ) idea on anchoring

Angels or sentinals don''t provide much help. Lead is much denser than concrete. The number of concrete bottles required would be very unhandy.

Radome Placement

Mine is on a mast at the cockpit. Makes it easy to service. Make sure you install the weep hole. Mine is in the shop now due to an accumulation of condesation.
