It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

Port awning???
Hope this is the correct forum to ask this. A few months ago I saw an ad for molded plastic type awnings that allow you to keep your ports open when it rains. They are just like an awning over the...

The tach isn't working. I mis-typed my original question. That is my problem, I cannot find a 'tach' post on the alternator and after thinking, a unique experience, I cannot expect anyone to know...

Just purchased a new, for us, 1983 S2 with a 35hp Universal. Haven't even had her out yet. Started the engine the other day and noticed that the tachometer was working. Opened the engine...

Thanks all for the tips. I've started to sand the marks off. What a pain in the butt, standing on the 3rd step down on the swim ladder with one arm wrapped around a stanchion and the other sanding....

Re: Lettering Removal
Thanks guys for your input. I did try a plastic razor and sanding with 800-1200 sandpaper was my next option. Just wanted to be lazy and avoid it. Thanks again.

Re: Lettering Removal
It's not that the finish is faded. There is a very definite lift in the edges where the lettering was, almost as if there is still a piece of cellophane still there.

We're removing our lettering as I write...and doing it with a steamer and a putty knife. However, there's still an adhesive backing from the lettering and we're not sure what to use to get that off....

Re: rusting stainless
Put a magnet on it. If it sticks or offers resistance then the SS is a 400 (martensitic) series SS. The 400 series SS is more likely to rust. The 300 series (autenitic) is non-magnetic, unless...

Re: Washing sails
Thanks 'M', I was anticipating clear, warm skies and sailing after the rain. An idyllic scenario, I know, but one that I would look forward to alleviating the mold/mildew attack.

Are there any S2 11C owners out there that would care to share handling information? We are in the process of buying a 1983 version and would like any do/don't information you may have.
Thanks
