It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

Re: Are Boats Built in the 70's Just Too Tired
I just noticed there are quite a few more comments here than before. Funny I didn’t get the usual email notices of new comments.
Anyway I want to thank all for their comments. Everyone was...

Re: 1990s Coastal Cruisers vs. Mid 70s Bluewater Boats
NaviG,
All good questions. I expect to be sailing in the Sea of Cortez for a couple of years then down the coast to Panama, Ecuador, then out across the Pacific. I'm expecting light to moderate...

Re: 1990s Coastal Cruisers vs. Mid 70s Bluewater Boats
Part of what I'm looking for, maybe most, is some opinions on the newer systems boats built in the 90's would have. Would these newer systems on production boats trump the heavier build of bluewater...

1990s Coastal Cruisers vs. Mid 70s Bluewater Boats
I started a thread about a month ago asking for opinions on some mid 70s bluewater cruisers, Cabo Rico, Tayana37, etc.
My budget then was about 50K. But then I saw a 1980 Valiant 40 on yachtworld...

Are Boats Built in the 70's Just Too Tired
I've been doing research on three boats that interested me, a Tayana 37, Crealock 37, and a 1976 Cabo Rico Tiburon.
I asked the question which to buy here at Sailnet and received a lot of great...

Re: How Much Should I Offer
Thanks ND1953 for alerting me to NADA. I thought NADA just dealt with cars.
I am doing research on prices primarily using YW. However, adding NADA to the mix makes it a lot more interesting. For...

Re: Help With Boat Selection
Hello Cruisingdad,
At your suggestion I am adding the Valiant 40 to my list. My guess is it will be too expensive for me but there is one listed at $69K on YW in my neighborhood, the SF Bay. My...

Thank you for the quick reply. I too find the lines of the Cabo Rico a little more appealing than the other two.
I appreciate the observation regarding space in the cockpit.

Crealock vs. Tayana, vs. Cabo Rico
I'm considering 3 boats and would appreciate any thoughts offered.
1. 1979 Crealock 37
2. 1977 Tayana 37
3. 1977 Cabo Rico
Please assume all in similar condition.
Thanks all
