Re: New ignition switch for Universal 5416

Thanks guys! I ordered from Catalina Direct. Their price was better than what I found other places, and over all I've been happy with them in the past.

Re: New ignition switch for Universal 5416

Barquito, thanks for those links. It SHOULD be possible; it's a fairly simple switch. There's the "accessory" position which enables the glow plugs, etc., then there's the "START" which is a...

Re: New ignition switch for Universal 5416

Jim! Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear that you haven't been out on Island Time. Hopefully that means that work is going well and keeping you busy. It's the "right" kind of problem to have!

Catamaran Sailing

I've been reading about catamarans, and been aboard a few at the boat shows, but I've never been aboard one to actually SAIL. I've read that they are different beasts than a mono, and I'd be really...

Re: "Spurs" Line Cutter or similar

Ken, I looked at the Shaft Shark-style cutters. I think the theory is that at least one end of the line will be semi-fixed (e.g., attached to a crab pot or the float) while the other end is trapped...

Re: NJ question on Titles

I'm sorry, I missed the part of no HIN; my Catalina had a HIN. But I don't think it will be that bad if you go somewhere where they see boats regularly. I wouldn't be surprised if they asked you to...

Re: NJ question on Titles

That's what I did with my Catalina. If you take the paperwork to a DMV that's in an area with a lot of boats (I did mine in Toms River) they shouldn't be too bad.

Re: Looking for help looking for a boat!

You have to be careful with Hunters that claim to be "Cherubini." Cherubini didn't design all of Hunter's boats when he was there (I forget the exact dates now, but late-1970's to mid-1980's, if I...

Re: Shameless plug

Vega, have you seen the 11c's? That seems like just about the ideal boat.

Re: Shameless plug

I've been in the 9.2C's, haven't been in the 8's. But I was amazed by how much room the 9.2's have, and I'm sure compared to most 23-25's, she'll seem HUGE. Congrats on the purchase and good luck...

Re: Shameless plug

I've always loved the S2 CC's. I don't remember them having the portlights on the topsides though maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention.

I'm more peeved that you came to NJ and didn't reach...

Re: No Experience...

Paul,
What you'll find here is that most people try to give a cold jolt of reality to those who come here asking if the $3,000 40'er they saw on Craigslist would make a good home. Or the people who...

Re: B&G sun cover required

Why not make one? It's pretty easy. The simplest would be to sew shock cord around the outside of a square of material that is sized to fit the cover. It can get more complicated (i.e., fit...

Re: eliminated engine...wheres my negative? jajaja
