And for extra credit find one sentence that is either a type-O or in need of redacting.

Re: Varnish removal: should I, could I?

I'm not sure I'd want to attempt all 37' feet of that without some use of shore power. Varnish comes up very easily with minimal use of an electric heat gun & your favorite scraper/razor. I would...

Re: Hullo There. Dad Gave Me A Boat.

In the St. Exupery line I liked "Wind, Sand and Stars" perhaps more than his princely novella.
Given your connection to "Erin" wouldn't you have some thrall for J. Joyce or O. Wilde, or is that...

Re: Pearons 28 passes Beneteau 46

Frankly, threatening other members with lawsuits sounds like a bootable offence to me.

Any takers?

Re: Thawing frozen engine

I think you lucked out too. Your impeller is likely missing a few of its arms/tentacles so replace it ASAP; unless you want to experience an over heating engine next spring. Been there done that my...

You know you will always learn something from a MaineSail post.

Take heed fellow Atomic 4 owner.
In the 12+ years I have been winterizing my A4 I have NEVER, repeat, never drained the water...

Re: Suppose you ran around on a falling tide

That looks like a Beneteau and I can't tell if it has wings at the bottom of the keel. Fin keel looks a bit too long for wings. Could be photoshopped or strange things can happen.

The keel on...

Re: Suppose you ran around on a falling tide

Well, if your boat happens to be a wing keel like an O'day 272 and the bottom is flat sand you just wait it out. The boat will sit just fine on the wings although it is a bit strange being on a boat...

Re: Three rescued disabled 32-foot sailboat

Thank you Kevin Jones for checking in at sailnet.

The internet can be amazing, huh?

Thank you for scuttling your boat as well - sad as that must have been.

Re: Doing Repairs the Hard Way

Boat was on a mooring 1/4 mile from shore on the Hudson River. Rig had also been taken off in prep for spending a winter ashore. Our mistake = not latching hatch closed prior to nasty blow.

Re: Doing Repairs the Hard Way

I'm also a fan of re-using original hardware and fittings when possible.
For one thing that old hardware can be better made than newer products, and for another the old stuff looks like it belongs...

Re: I need a used keel for a 22 foot catalina please help.

First of all, welcome to Sailnut!

I'd posit that the OP did not literally mean that the keel was stolen; I believe it may be a centerboard model. A replacement centerboard shouldn't be too hard...

Re: Yacht Clubs vs Marinas....which one to join. Are all yacht clubs the same?

It is nice that there is a choice of atmospheres at various boat clubs, enough to suit the varied types of sailors/boaters that are out there.

A little historical perspective of the Sea Cliff...

Re: Need help to I.D. a small sailboat.

Not to split hairs but titles for cars and boats were not issued in the US until 1973 (not 1968). Your boat might just be 5 years younger!
Nice call there on the Cal 20' Faster (Ron).
