Re: Alternator for Universal 5416

I am replacing the wiring, so this should not be a problem. It is just wires from alternator to the battery, right?

Re: Independent charging of 2 batteries from alternator/solar

Re: Independent charging of 2 batteries from alternator/solar

How do you suggest I connect the solar panel to the hose battery bank and starter battery?

I want to keep started battery completely separate from house batteries.

Re: Simple Electrical System

The simplest setup would be connecting the charged battery to the tiller pilot directly - plus to plus and - to -.

To upgrade put a fuse on a line, it will shut off the current when you have a...

Re: Universal 5716 AKA M20 AKA Kubota Z751

Old pump didn't put fuel into one cylinder, so there was a problem, but I don't think I needed it replaced, just get it unstuck. But I can't believe the mechanic installing the injector pump didn't...

Re: Universal 5716 AKA M20 AKA Kubota Z751

Yeah, it's frustrating, didn't sail this season because of the issues with the engine, I replaced the top part of it almost completely :)

Now I think I could fix Kubota diesels or Universal...

Re: Universal 5716 AKA M20 AKA Kubota Z751

Yes, glow plugs are good, I replaced them with new ones and measured the voltage there - it was 11.3 on one and 11.2 on another, which I think is near to what it should be.

I did the bleeding.

In the manual there is only this on installation:

Universal 5716 AKA M20 AKA Kubota Z751

I have some problems with my engine starting and I suspect the injector pump.
My mechanic replaced it, but I think the installation is not right and I am not getting enough fuel in the engine for it...

Re: Fuel Line Replacement

yes, as you change the lines you would introduce air in the system, so you would need to bleed it. Usually it's not too hard, just unscrew a bolt a little and crank the engine until you see fuel...

I replaced the hoses, it didn't help much, the same issue is happening.
I did the bleeding every time I did something different. After trying the...

Re: Air in fuel system

No, my filter is encased, I changed the whole assembly. And I never unscrewed the bleed screw completely, just enough to bleed the system, so I don't think there was a chance for a washer to go...

Re: Air in fuel system

Anyway, can someone please say what type of fuel hose should I use and where do I find it?

The engine is Universal 5416 (and I think it's the same as Universal M20).
