Clipper Ocean Race: good investment or waste of cash

Are any of you following the Clipper Race?
I just looked at the prices for individual legs and they are really expensive
would it be worth blowing three and a half grand on it?

Seems to me sailing training doesn't come cheap

with regards to compatibility of training...so far the only discrepancies I have read about concern the use of different Datum to work out fixed positions but to be honest, most GPS and Plotters...
