If you don't have leech telltales buy a set, they're cheap and make a big difference.

Basic starting point I use with new main trimmers is boom on the centerline and the tail end of the top batten...

By this I meant bends the mast, not the boom. Pushing too hard will add strain to the mast at the gooseneck though - you often see masts broken there.

Sounds like fun!

Steps to flatten the boat / reduce heeling
- jib leads aft
- dump / lower traveller, a big bubble up front in the main can be fine
- backstay, until the sail shape looks flat...

We don't have strong winds here but if we did...

- In waves time the gybe as the boat is surfing to reduce apparent wind
- Turning through an S - turning back as the main comes across the boat -...

Its important to dance when finally done. Better than hand signals. You may choose a dance move of your own please don't use mine it may cause confusion.
