inverted main?

i raced on a cat 390 and noticed its main was inverted. (bent the wrong way). no backstay adjuster. the sail looked very full and we did quite well.
moderate wind 8 to 12 knots. has anyone seen this...

not sure i understand how the mast bends being its a masthead rig. unless the point of bend is caused by the shrouds. i can see the rake increasing and the forestay tightening.

timing the start

i will usually try to do a "reach out reach in" or "vanderbuilt" start at about 3 to 4 min prior to start time.
i use a standard stop watch for this. some of my crew are having trouble converting...
