Type III Foam Vests

I'd like to buy 3 good foam vests to complement our collection of 3 self inflating vests.

2 reasons:

1. To have 3 more PFD's to fulfill the CG requirement without using those dorky 'yoke' vests...

Re: is VHF STILL the only way to contact bridges?

I had to pass under a RR bridge bringing my new girl home last spring.

Eventually, the bridge just opened.

I saw no...

Re: How much of your punch list gets done before launch?

My list is divided up: Before Launch - Before Sailing - Before Cruising

The Before Launch list has to get done. 10 items left; 9 days left.

No pressure.

Re: Splash 2015

Also, on a frozen lake, the winterstick will tolerate snowmobile traffic better than a mooring ball.

Re: Enlarging hole for screw-out deck plate? File? Dremel?

Last time I did this, I put down several layer of masking tape to keep the foot plate of the sabre saw from scratching the gelcoat. Also allows you to mark the lines more easily.

Re: Splash 2015

I have successfully lapped the tapered plugs of my cockpit scupper* seacocks.

It's not often you get to put that many random words together and tie it all up at the end. :D

I need to do a small...

Re: storm hood (or whatever it's called)

Hi Denise,

I've heard that called a 'Sea Hood'. Might make web searches easier.

Re: Replacement switches for 1978 light fixture

The switches from Blue Sea all have a 1/2" mounting hole; they are 'full size'.

I think the form factor for this switch is 'miniature'. Not 'sub miniature', those are tiny.

Replacement switches for 1978 light fixture

Does anyone know of a good replacement switch for light fixtures in my 1978 B29.9? The only writing I could find on the fixture was "Made in China".

The switch looks pretty common; I'm sure...

Re: How Old is Your Boat

My girl is from 1978; I'm just a bit older. ;)

I have always thought that the vibration of the larger (and often more numerous) engines added to the impact of crashing into every wave reduced...

I'm heading up to my boat this Thursday.

I've added 'measure coamings' to my To Do list.

Re: West Marine 15A Battery Charger

The direct wire to the battery also meant that the OFF position on my battery switch was not as effective as it could have been.

Re: West Marine 15A Battery Charger

I found the electrical issue; it wasn't a slow drain.

My AC inverter has soiled the linen and draws 0.6A with the power switch firmly in the OFF position. The PO (or PPO) wired the unit directly...
