Now that you know what happened what will be your standard operating procedure to make sure it doesn't happen again?

IE: would shutting off the thruhull after every shutdown make this event...

In my opinion the 9.9 merc is just about right for a Catalina 25.
The Catalina 27 is significantly heavier.

People have put the 9.9 on a bracket on a Catalina 30 however.
