If the zinc fits in the holder that screws into the HX, then you can use it, fat or skinny. There is only one zinc on an M25 series engine, on the HX, nowhere else.

It's actually a rather poor diagram.

The macerator should have its own thru hull, because the outlet of the macerator is much smaller than the head outlet.

Therefore, that Y valve isn't needed....

Anything intermittent like that is an electrical connection going south.

Check the main engine ground first, it might look good, but pull hard on it, and remove it and clean it.

Check the fuse...
