The wishbone can NOT bounce much, let alone a lot, with the sheet in trimmed very hard. The masthead will pump in a seaway and as it moves aft, the leech can move down as much as a foot. VERY HARD...

Nonsuch sail trim
The sail on a Nonsuch is what we used to call (in early '70s) a high clewed blast reacher (heavy genoa). It is NOT a main. Trimming like a genoa works VERY well. Trimming like a main WILL work . . ....
