Consider the Pearson 323 if you can find one at your price range. Great sailing boat, built extremely well, and for the beam it has a good interior layout for a live aboard. Just my opinion.

Try using your main halyard to support the motor. Use another person at the tail of the halyard and you guide it in place. It has worked for me for that reason.
