If you decide not to believe in superstition and it turns out that you were wrong then you are in trouble.

Re: The future of the sailing world. Why are there so few young people cruising??

I eat food because it makes ME feel good....not because someone one else says I should or should not feel good about eating something.

Re: The future of the sailing world. Why are there so few young people cruising??

Re: Bob Perry's take on Wolfenzee's dream boat

I wish I still had the results but I ready an article by a structural engineer who took all the materials used in boat building and after exhaustive comparison the final conclusions for the ideal...

Re: The future of the sailing world. Why are there so few young people cruising??

As things are now my income is barely enough for me to squeak by in the Pacific Northwest (weather dictates I keep my boat in a marina most of the year)....but I can support two living very...

Re: What's your dream boat?

If I "won the lottery" I woul;d probably have my hull built 50% bigger, riigged as a schooner and have some major changes made to the cabin lay out.....though is I had a very big chunk of change land...

Re: Bob Perry's take on Wolfenzee's dream boat

Sounds sort of like me, I have aquired all sorts of stuff for little or nothing, not have go and get rid of lots of valuable stuff...I have to keep reminding myself of how much it actuially cost me....

Re: What's your dream boat?

Actually to fit within the parameters of the original question, I saw a beautiful old wooden schooner, 45' on deck (smallest practical size for a schooner) nice graceful lines, low cabin with...

Re: The future of the sailing world. Why are there so few young people cruising??

The is is a "sociologically constricted, emotionally constipated cultural bubble" boats are mostly an expression of material wealth and cruising is at best away to escape from the modern world for a...

A much more realistic fear ( and worse fate) would dieing in a mangled lump of twisted steel on the freeway....or worse stagnating and getting absorbed into this mindless culture.

As far as the...

Re: Bob Perry's take on Wolfenzee's dream boat

Re: Bob Perry's take on Wolfenzee's dream boat

Re: New sails, brands, quality, price.

I haven't had a new sail cut yet, that will be a while before I can afford it, I might just go with a "retired" racing sail, still lots of life in it for my application, but not in the eyes of the...

Re: Bob Perry's take on Wolfenzee's dream boat
