Re: Bristol 29.9 coaming dimensions

Re: Bristol Yachts 50th Anniversery 2016

I just saw this. My wife and I will try to make it with our 1978 29.9; I'll let my brother know, he has a 1973 B32.

Re: RI Broker?

I just bought a 1978 Bristol 29.9 from Ken Hilton of Standish Boat Yard in Tiverton, RI.

He made the process very easy for me.

FYI the Bristol 29.9 is a 30ish family cruiser; I think they are...

Re: Ways to Get Boat From Long Island to Upstate NY

Hi Nancy,
Sounds like you've given up on the 22' O'Day, but FYI when I moved my 25' keel boat it was $580 for 60 miles:

Don't give up on...

Re: What does this do?

Yes. Maybe not from that boat; sometimes gear gets misplaced. I can see it sliding into a squared off strap or milled opening at the end of a control shaft. The little tab would keep it from sliding...

Re: Mooring ball slap damaging my awlgrip topside ?

My thoughts (in no particular order):

My new-to-me boat will need to be painted if it is ever to look nice again. The original gelcoat was patched and the patches have yellowed while the original...

Re: Newbie in Del.

Hi Beej! Welcome aboard.

I was also very nervous about docking; especially when I went from my 18' to this huge 25! :laugher

There's nothing to it but to do it. The odds are that it will be...

Re: How do you rate your marina/mooring ?

We love our boat club. 2 years ago I would have been happy with a town mooring and 'at your own risk' dinghy tie up. That's how I grew up; I'd never known different*. Now it will be a huge step down....

Re: Dinghy Capsize

Please don't let this discourage you from sailing or single-handing. It will take a few trips*, but it feels pretty good to pull off a smartly executed single-hand tack.

It's even better if...
