If I had the money I would build a 53ST with a lifting keel. The II dystra built for himself seems to be nearly perfect. I had great interest in these boats. A definite step up from Garcias and...

Examples for me:
How...

Re: Is it getting more crowded out there?

Re: Is it getting more crowded out there?

Think the pendulum swings back and forth. Maybe some of you remember all the boat builders in the north east who closed up shop or stated making other things ( now it's wind turbine blades). First...

Re: Grenada cruising observations

I've learn to pick the weather window and go to windward first. That way you have a chance of your guests making their plane. Easier going downhill if it pipes up.
Agree doing the circuit isn't...

Re: Is it getting more crowded out there?

People feel the need to be tied to airports and Internet. Many people have family, jobs or other responsibilities they are leaving behind. They feel reassured knowing they can Facebook or viber. They...

Re: Grenada cruising observations

K don't some people just regionally wander from a home base. In my group see folks who have a slip. Fly back and forth to the states two or three times a year leaving the boat under yacht management...

Re: Is it getting more crowded out there?

Before Xmas you could go anywhere in the BVIs and decide if you wanted to moor or anchor. After Xmas you can't get into coopers I. unless you are there before noon,or anagada or jos,regardless....

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

Interesting to see how boats have evolved. Now so dependent on technology. Need to call the IT guy when something breaks. Hard to do on passage.
Broadblue started out as Prout. Prout made some great...

Re: Hard time finding crew opportunities

I'm with Z on this one. Makes me a bit paranoid. Contrary to what RD said on another post prefer crew who own or have owned their own boat ( they are kinder to the interior), have sailed for awhile (...

Re: Death of in-mast furling/new mast

Then it boils down to money. If you have tons of it drop price 10-14k. Get cf mast with standard sail shape controls and have a blast as you blow by me.

I would add one of the major contributors to...
