The Tartan 38 was the racing version of the T-37 with the fixed 6.75' keel (the T-37 is 4'2" with a centerboard) and yes Jeff is correct she will squat if over throttled.

I wonder if this was one of the Hylass with carbon fiber standing rigging. If so I wonder if that could have played a factor in the dismasting?
