Where do people like you get your prices :confused: on the west coast you never see a C25 for less than $5k unless it's trashed and here in AZ they can go for as high as $8-9k in great shape.

Don't let being in AZ stop you, there are over a 100 sailboats at Lake Pleasant and a sailing school where you can get ASA 101 and 103 certified and rent Catalina 22's and 25's to your hearts...

taking the classes the way you are planning is a waste, I'm pretty sure ASA recommends 40-50 hours of sailing before taking 103.

The best way is to take ASA 101, find a spot to rent 18 or 22'...
