I have Dutchman system on my Catalina 30 tall rig. While not perfect, it does let you drop sail fast if you need to, and controls the sail on the boom.

I'm not the debating type as such. I just think that their attitude is like not voting and then bitching about who is in the white house.

I normaly just touch up the leading edges and the waterline unless i find a wear spot from washing. I dock in a flowing river so I don't get much more than a little slime over a season.

Talking c30MKIII

I have a 1994 model. Tall rig is great for light air. Reef at 15 for comfort. I have a fin keel at 5' 3". Points well, very responsive with the big catalina rudder. Lots of fun.

time and place for everything

I use my chartplotter with my autopilot when in open water and low traffic situations. It works great. I can relax and enjoy the views. No need for it in tight situations.

Cool back to painting

The interlux two part in white didn't even need to be tipped on the boat I did. I also have done one in their Med Blue which did need tipping.
It does scratch like any paint.
