95% of the time it will be the sender. Check the resistance of the sender at the fuel tank. 240 to 30 for American and 30 to 0 for EU.

I've used Battery Tenders for several years now that I learned the hard way about Trickle charges. They can and do ruin batteries. Get a good tender that does not over charge.

I was an Arty guy for 10 years. North up for orentation and course up for travel. Now everything is done by Inertia and GPS. Move shoot and communicate.....guess you were Arty as well.:)

I think this is the real case. The commercial guys have armed security and can in most cases fend them off or out run them. Yachts just don't go there.
