If your going to gelcoat afterwards the best product, especially for adhesion and sand ability is Evercoat 27.
Sands easily and great for fairing out any voids. Then gelcoat.

I did look into them, but they where 2x as much and I still have a lot of refitting and stuff to buy for the boat.

But they do look great! But the new Furrion are really nice..

2 weeks ago I became a full time liveaboard again, after 10 years of living on land and boatless for 8 years.

Finished enough of the boat to make her liveable, going to spend this winter finishing...

Have heaved to a number of times but with a storm jib hanked on to my inner fore stay - which I added to my old boat. Worked like a charm, longest was for 28 hours.

I second the forced-air diesel heaters, had a Webasto on my last boat hope to get another one for my present boat. Pretty easy installation, worked great and I was a live-aboard in Philly for 2 years...

I recently had a similar problem, it would prime but took forever for the level to go down. Turns out the bilge hose was composed of about 4 small pieces and at each joint it leaked like crazy....
