Re: Do I need new sails

I don't think it is possible to say antything about the conditions of your sails, based on age only. It depends on hours used, and especially hours exposed to sun and saltwater.

Re: The great things about owning a sailboat that no one tells you about

This thread is a gold mine!
I might print out many of the brilliant quotes and put it up in my boat.
(If i get one soon, just sold my beloved Polaris Drabant, and can't seem to get a hold of the...

Re: Anything like Borresen BB10

While this is true, most people around here still see the BB 10 as the most beautiful of them all. It is a fantastic sailboat and amazing to look at.
Just kind of perfect. (For sailing.. not much...

Re: Is he anchored too close?

That was a great post MarkofSeaLife :)
I will reduce before I tuck in, and then look at it when I check things during the night :) The forecast says that it will stay calm until early morning.

Re: Is he anchored too close?

12' feet deep, I guess we both have around 90' chain/lead rope out.
He backed down in the parallel to me.
No generator, and they seem to be asleep already (it's 22:33 here now) ;)
I know it will...

Re: Is he anchored too close?

Right!
The water depth is 12 feet, no tide to speak of. I have 90' feet of lead-rope out.(nothing on the bottom to cut lines around here)

Re: Is he anchored too close?

Yeah I realize that now, I might just be a little "uptight" with this. Anyway, it seems to be a very very quiet night around here, and his anchor gear seems to be superior. Not that I want to get...

Is he anchored too close?

I came in here in the afternoon and picked a spot with a good distance between other anchored boats.
Later a boat came in, and instead of anchoring away from the farthest boat, he took a spot...

Re: Here is someone who seriously don't care

Totally unaccapetable to let the propeller spin like that IMHO.

It was absolutely NOT your fault, and all this talk about it being your fault, and you should just have moved, makes me a little angry .
I see a lot of that, and it just makes an idiot like him...
