Thank you for making my point. Boats are rarely earthed, biggest risk is obviously in a steel vessel that may have an accidental earth (eg motor to hull bolt through engine mount is now earthing due...

A short requires a completed circuit, not many boats run an "earthed hull" not a good idea.

Positive and negative if shorted will both spark, negative terminals will spark, if you don't believe me...

Just follow the instructions, the BMS unit Redarc make for motorhome's is also done via the positive terminal.

That set up looks good, a bit more info always helps lol.

Basically what you are chasing is the minimum practical distance between the battery post and the main fuse, if space is an issue...

Not really sure why the switch? Also the blue seas fuse seems to be on the line, really you want the fuse as close to the battery terminal as practical.

My system, same as we design for rv type...

Slightly off topic but why is it you can buy a fish finder for under $100 but not just a straight depth gauge?
