Agree... Chain plate replacement and even structural up-grade is an essential with many vessels! With my old Irwin it was easy access, and the chain plates are adequate for what this old gal is...

If not under cover, on the hard don't really help much more in my experience... a few boats I looked at that were on the hard , one for several years had interior water damage, and lots of it, saw...
