It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

Re: Boom assembly
There was a 'shoulder' to drill thru and pop rivets into, so I am all set now. Thanks for all of the assistance! Now just need some help stepping the mast and I'm on my way.

Re: Boom assembly
Okay, I will check on the thickness, maybe they just appear solid, they are hefty. But I bought it all together from Dwyer, I'm sure they would not send rivets if something else were needed.
If...

Re: Boom assembly
Thanks for those fast replies. I guess that makes sense. It seems like those pieces are solid, I was not sure I could drill just part way and pop a rivet into them.
It is for an O'day Rhodes 19.

So I have a new boom, sliding gooseneck and end cap, but not sure how the gooseneck and cap stay attached to the boom. There doesn't seem to be any way to secure either. They just fit snugly in the...

Re: Mast sheave box question
Sorry, I wasn't clear. The holes line up in the photo, I'm just not sure what fasteners to use. Looks like rivets would be it.

Re: Mast sheave box question
It should be in there correctly. There are no flanges. The existing holes line up like I have it and the 'open' side has to point out for the halyards to go through.
Perhaps there were originally...

Mast sheave box question
On my small O'day Rhodes 19 the halyards run through the mast and exit the lower sheave box. When I received the boat the box was not attached to the mast, although there are small holes in both the...

Mainsheet rigging help
Hello all. Have seen plenty of posts that have me pointed in the right direction, but I could use specifics. I have a Rhodes 19 that is ready to launch, but I need some blocks for the mainsheet. I am...

Re: Numbers on sail for Oday Javelin
Your boat should have the id, or HIN on the stern if it is mid 70's, at least my O'day does.
Generally, you can use the HIN as your numbers, the 4 digits should be sandwiched in the middle of all...

So you all have just about convinced me. Varnish is the way to go.
That is beautiful Minnewaska, might make me rethink the gloss finish!
The time is not really an issue, and the sanding I can...

I used the Aqua Strip product. Put it on thick, wait a couple hours depending on temp, place plastic underneath and scrape it of. Took 2 applications and still had to sand, but it works quite well to...

Okay, thanks, that makes sense. Is there a formula to use to get the correct width as it widens near the stern?

Topside paint for the boot. If you look at places like Jamestown they sell small cans for the boot stripe. I've read elsewhere that tape is often used, as stated above. There are a lot of color...

How about a Rhodes 19? You might find you at a good price and would be a good boat to learn on. The centerboard version could beach, weighs about 1100 lbs. so you could easily trailer....
