Re: Mantus anchor raffle

Businesses who pay to advertise are allowed to post about their business in the forums, in their signatures, user names, etc. If you run Adblock, perhaps you don't see their giant banner at the top...

Re: Ballpark to rewire Catalina 22

The one I have is Sailboat Electrics Simplified by Casey. I can't attest to how useful it is but it was recommended when I was looking for one.

Re: CNN on Rogue Waves

If I remember correctly, for a long time those who didn't go to sea were skeptical when those who did reported giant waves. I believe I read somewhere that it wasn't until after satellite images...

Re: Starting a Sailing team: Comments, tips, advice, appreciated.

I don't race, but I do support US Sailing. You might want to contact them about a club membership if you want to compete with other clubs and be able to advance through the racing system. They may...

Re: New here, new to sailing...

Welcome to SailNet!

In ten years hopefully you'll look back and realize how far you've come and how much more you still have to learn! It never stops.

Re: New to sailing in Maryland.

Welcome Tom!

What's the draft of your boat? We have a place in Ocean City, MD and there's a reason you rarely see anything but the occasional kite surfer. At low tide you can walk across most of...

Re: St Augustine

I don't know about renting boats, but St. A has a very strong cruising community. I've been twice, once by sail. You might check this out:

Re: marine head vs. porta potty

Oh. No experience with those.

I'd have to think carefully about how I wanted to use the boat as well as how long I expected to keep it before going to the next boat.

Investing in a proper tank...

Re: Sailnet Suggestion Box

I'll start a discussion with the mods about this one. My first thought is that multihulls are listed in the Boat Builders Row for discussion about specific boats. I suspect that in the past there...

Re: Boat Purchase Timing ??

Interesting. For the specific boat make that I've decided on for our Next Boat, I found the boats in the Great Lakes to be approximately $20K less expensive (for a newer boat) than on the east coast....

Re: How do you rate your marina/mooring ?

When I first bought a sailboat, a 22 footer, I decided to keep it in a slip because I hated trailering it and I didn't want to deal with the ramp/mast raising/etc. alone (I was single at the time). I...

Re: Best used cheap blue water boats 30-45ft
