Re: Can anyone give me a valid reason to carry a firearm?

One thing I have read and read on sailing forums is to be prepared. The more experience, the better your equipment, the better chance you have of surviving what ever comes your way. The criminals...

Re: Our first good video

And that would be my reference to the video bloggers that are raking in the cash. Yet they are still free on youtube. If I had to pay to watch them first probably would not happen. But then again...

Re: Our first good video

Tdw, thank you for that. I went back yesterday after I had more time to read all the pages and picked up on that. Some of these video bloggers are raking in the cash. I really think you have to be at...

Re: Our first good video

I must be missing something here. I clicked on the video and it took me to youtube and the video. During the video it briefly said "support us". Is that what everyone is bashing this guy over. I...

Re: advice -- swing keel vs water ballast vs fixed keel

If you have a boat you will learn how to work on it or pay somebody else big bucks to do the job. I have a swing keel and really can't see it being that much work compared to all the work a boat...

Re: Inspiration for the Young Punks

Followed them almost from the start! Loved there journey! Actually I still check in on their blog from time to time. Wished I would have done something like that before I started the "Grind" of...

Re: Big Freakin' Sails

Not sure that this qualifies as Big Freakin Sails but it sure qualifies as a Big Freakin Adventure. Not sure of his age but has to be fresh out of high school. Its a blog about a young man who bought...

Re: Getting a small boat to the bahamas

Yea I have seen that video as well. Its all about risk vs reward for me. Jetski would be much faster than a 22 and probably take less than an hour to cross. Those things fly! However, what happens if...

Re: Getting a small boat to the bahamas

Not that I am recommending it but Cat22's have crossed the Gulf Stream before. Not something I would want to do but I have read about others doing it.

Re: Painting Catalina 22 Hull For Racing

Something to think about. As far as using it in Kentucky not worried about it at all. It has never stayed in the water more than two days since I have owned it. I have a fish/ski boat that I left in...

Re: Painting Catalina 22 Hull For Racing

Ianjoub, I have not ruled out automotive paint yet, that is a possibility. I am just exploring options right now.

Re: Painting Catalina 22 Hull For Racing

Mr Barquito, you know I had not thought of that but man how awesome would that be! I wonder how a large decal would affect the boats performance?

Re: Painting Catalina 22 Hull For Racing

The boat is a 81 model with many years of wear and tear. Part of the reason for addressing the bottom is for a faster boat but the other reason is me wanting to make her look good as well. I have a...

Painting Catalina 22 Hull For Racing

I am in the early stages of preparing to paint my 81 Cat22 for the upcoming season. Right now it has some type of antifouling paint that stays on your hand when you rub it or anything else it touches...

Re: Largest Trailerable Sailboat

I love the design of the Alberg30 as well. I am wondering if you have ever been on a Cat27 so you could compare the two to interior space as well as deck space. The Cat27 seems idea for me for my...

Re: Largest Trailerable Sailboat

The Nor'Sea 27 is an awesome boat and would be at the top of my list if not for the price tag. Lot of money for a boat to be sitting on trailer way more than floating in the water. Fifteen years from...

Re: Largest Trailerable Sailboat

The main factor for me has been the overwidth permit cost. If you are staying in one state a yearly permit is the way to go. However, if you are planning on covering several states the cost starts...

I have been looking for a long time to find the biggest semi-trailerable sailboat for several years now. I currently have a cat22 that I am enjoying racing and learning the ropes on. Last year I took...

Re: Largest Trailerable Sailboat

Thanks for the video HR28, just goes to show what may be the ceiling for some is just the floor for others. One can only define that for themselves. However advice from others "hopefully experienced...
