Re: Fuel pump died

I pulled the strainer out and it was clogged thick... I bet the pump burned due to it. When you turned on the ignition previously you could hear the pump working. Now it does nothing.

I...

Re: Fuel pump died

I may go with a $50 cube as opposed to this $100 part.

Re: Fuel pump died

I have not taken it apart. It gets warm when I tested it, but does not pump. It worked fine prior to winter, now it does not.

Re: Fuel pump died

There is an external strainer before the pump and then of course a fuel filter on the engine.

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

How to use a marine head - YouTube (http://youtu.be/bbP-SeepJpM)

Maybe this can help explain it to you so I don't have to. This thread is over. I'm done with it.

BTW, I've read several...

Re: Custom Interior

I wasn't really thinking of a remodel so much as I was thinking about additions. I see a variety of things that people have done to their P30's.

I have some "upgrades" I am working on in the...

Custom Interior

What are some of the most common changes to the interior of a Pearson 30?

What would you consider the biggest problem with the P30 interior?

Re: Notice To Mariners: New Reef off Key West

Yes, I would agree that my mental soundness could be called into question. But my boat runs and isn't 80' long and in a state of perpetual sinking.

That guy didn't even have enough power on the...

Re: Notice To Mariners: New Reef off Key West

I read a second article here (http://thebluepaper.com/article/derelict-tugboat-set-to-cost-hundreds-of-thousands-to-monroe-county/) about the event.

There is no doubt in my mind that the seller...

Re: Snow Birds?

We have a 5' draft and are reading news articles concerning the problems with the ICW and how the commercial companies were saying they at least a grounding a day with barges.

I've talked with a...

Re: Snow Birds?

We didn't learn about the condition of the ICW or the possible closure of "The Loop" until after we bought our boat.

It wasn't our first choice to buy a boat on the Pacific, but NOW, I don't think...

Re: Snow Birds?

We don't have a home port and are still trying to figure out what our USCG listed port is going to be.

I've been looking into Maine and they don't appear to be "off the hook" friendly in areas...

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

It's a little unsettling to think that the Coast Guard can swarm a marina in the middle of the night and start searching boats for no other reason than they are bored.

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

This has already been answered, but in a nutshell, YES.

I was inspected on Lake Michigan and given a warning for having out of date flares. He could have easily given me a ticket but didn't.

I...

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

I'm not defending those people.

I'm just saying that sometimes CPS goes in gun blazing with the attitude of kill them all, let god sort them out.

Those people were obviously not responsible...

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

LOL, I used to have to take a bath every Saturday night so I would be clean for church. But, as a child, I rarely remember taking baths more frequently than that.

It wasn't until high school...

Re: Ugly Side of Liveaboards: Sailboat vs. Doublewide or Homeless Shelter

When the wealthy complain about beautiful sailboats against a nice sunset blocking their "scenery", you know they are going to complain about a boat like that one seemed to have been.

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

I agree! That's why doing anything other than waking up, going to work, and dying before you can collect retirement is considered a threat and "they" want to stop that.

This is my concern. We...

Re: Ugly Side of Liveaboards: Sailboat vs. Doublewide or Homeless Shelter

This is edging too close to politics... You are obviously free to believe and vote how you choose.

I'm not into debating politics on a sailing forum.

Re: I Want To Clarify Some Things

It is a very sensitive issue with us. We are not at the dock forever.

I see what marinas cost on the east coast and we'll be anchoring out a lot. This is the main reason we are staying here. ...
